What I Am Currently Lip Syncing at Work

I am a music LOVER. Alex is too…it’s one of the greatest interests we have in common. We spend a lot of time (him more than me because I am distracted by a multitude of loves if you haven’t noticed) trying to discover new music…music outside of what you hear on the radio. We both get high off the creativity, the story telling, the emotional effect that music can have on you. So, with that being said, I wanted to honor a few favorite tunes in this here post.

I am a lover of all kinds of music…from alternative, to mainstream pop, I dabble in some rap even though I usually don’t know what they’re saying, I can even dig some 80’s once in a while (side note – may or may not have drunk karaoked to Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar On Me” a few weekends ago…not my proudest moment). However, my top ten song choices today just happen to be primarily country. Don’t get me wrong, it is probably my favorite genre…but it really only ended up that way because there are a lot of great country artists on the rise! Anyways, without further ado, WHAT I’M CURRENTLY LIP SYNCING AT WORK (true statement, in no particular order):

Tacoma – Caitlyn Smith

Caitlyn is primarily a Nashville songwriter, but also an AMAZING vocalist. This song is slow and beautiful, and the best thing to belt while sitting in traffic on your way home from work. Who cares if people stare…not me.

Thy Will – Hillary Scott & The Scott Family

“Thy Will” features vocals by Hillary Scott from the infamous Lady Antebellum, who recently decided to branch out and create a faith-based album with her very musical family. The entire thing is great! I highly recommend checking it out.

Live Forever – The Band Perry

So “Live Forever” was actually chosen as the song to represent the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team. And it’s obvious why… It’s super catchy and uplifting, and just makes you want to do something awesome!

No Place Like You – Maddie & Tae

What is not to love about these girls…they’re sweet, adorable, and extremely talented songwriters and vocalists. So much respect. This is just my favorite of their newest tracks.

Beer in the Fridge – Walker Hayes

Now this song is sad…but so, so good. Walker Hayes is an up-and-coming artist in the country realm and his sound is awesome. SO unique. Like I said, I listen to a lot of music and there is no one yet quite like him. He only has a few releases right now but they’re all equally great. I am predicting a lot of success for this guy!

I Met A Girl – Sam Hunt

Ahh Sam Hunt. What more can I say? Everything he sings turns to gold. This is no different.

Village – Cam

Now this song makes me want to be an artist. Cam wrote this for a friend after her brother passed. Such a gentle way to help bring peace to an extremely unfortunate situation. The song really is beautiful.

Leaving Nashville – Charles Kelley

Another ode to Lady A. Probably Alex’s favorite of the list (however the rest are kind of feminine…). Charles’ vocals in Lady A are great, but they do no justice to his individual work. I feel like he recreated himself by going out on his own. Leaving Nashville is both beautiful and inspiring. I can’t get enough of it.

By The Way – Lindsay Ell

An up-and-coming lady of country. This song is super catchy and fun to sing along to!

Hero (Full Album) – Maren Morris

Yes. The entire album. Give it a listen and you’ll get why I couldn’t pick one song. She’s my obsession. No shame.

And that’s it! Ten of my current favs! Let me know what you think of them… What songs/artists are you loving right now??

Xoxo,

Kylie
