Holiday Party Decor (On A Budget)

This year, Alex and I decided to host Friendsgiving! Which is kind of like Thanksgiving, except with friends instead of family, and a lot more booze (at least that’s our tradition). Now, I hate to host anything without decorating a little…mostly because I love to decorate, but also because I want to set the mood. No matter what the occasion may be, I want the party to feel like the holiday. The feeling that holidays give you is a huge part of the fun, and I personally believe heightens the memories you make!

With that being said, I’m always ballin’ on a budget. Meaning I don’t have all kinds of money to just throw around (can I get an Amen?). So my goal was to pick up a few simple things that are versatile to the season (AKA can be used again) but will also have a big impact on the overall vibe.

What I walked out of Michael’s with:

5 pine branches

2 medium mason jars

1 small mason jar

6 extra small glass jars

What I already had:

2 table cloths

Tea light candles

Total investment: $45… Not too shabby if you ask me.

I put two branches in each medium mason jar, and one in the small, to create simple, yet festive centerpieces for the tables. Accompanying the centerpieces were the 6 extra small glass jars, filled with tea light candles to enrich the experience with a subtle glow. What I love about tea light candles is that you can buy a decent size package of them for very inexpensive, and then continue to replace them as they burn throughout the night! I prefer to buy scentless for occasions like this, so that the smell of the candle doesn’t interfere with that of the yummy food. Just a personal preference!

What is y’all’s go-to for budget-friendly holiday party decor? Your thoughts are always welcomed and encouraged!!

Thankful for you all.

Xoxo,

Kylie

    Hi Kylie!

I have a ton of mason jars at my house and I could totally do this! Our apartment is too small for a tree but these little jars are perfect. I feel inspired to dec out the house for the holidays 🙂

I love the idea of Friendsgiving! Thanksgiving is an adopted Holiday for me as we don’t have it in The UK but it’s a lovey holiday to celebrate.
